Residency Projects: July 2020–Present

In the fall of 2019, The Kitchen began inviting artists to participate in multi-week residencies in The Kitchen’s 19th Street building or at our partner space Queenslab in Ridgewood, Queens. During these periods, artists have the opportunity to pursue a range of artistic processes while creating new work with support from The Kitchen. Following the launch of The Kitchen OnScreen in July 2020, this site has become the platform for sharing with online audiences the work that these artists-in-residence generate in our physical spaces. The virtual presentation of each residency varies, with artists choosing how much of their research and creation process to make public and how they’d like audiences to engage with their work. Click on the project pages below to explore the residencies that have taken place since July 2020.
